Being home…

So we are finally settling in to being home. Things are going rather smoothly… so it is only a matter of days (hours, minutes…) until things go crazy. But for now, Lily is being a great big sister and Emilie just loves being held and hugged.

Emilie has opened her eyes for a total of about 20 minutes over the past two days so we have all kind of been hanging out! Lily asks for her baby all day long and loves to hold her. The only thing we need to watch out for is that when she is done holding Emilie she pushes her right off her lap and says, “Here you go, Mommy!”.

We have lots of new pictures to add. For now, I have been putting pictures into Our Family 2008 collection. You will find pictures of Emilie in the hospital and new pics in the Welcome Home, Emilie folder!

And as you can see, the website is being updated… so look back soon for a new design!

And the countdown begins…

As Mommy gets fatter… we start the countdown for Baby Numero Dos. We have started getting the house together and letting Lily play with all of the baby stuff so hopefully it won’t be too overwhelming. Lily likes to show me where Baby Dos will sleep and she will sing Rockabye Baby to her dolls in the swing. I can only hope she will be half as excited once the baby actually arrives (and Lily realizes she isn’t just there to visit!). We even got Lily a few big sister gifts, including a digital camera that she likes to use at her friends house.

With this beautiful Fall weather, I have been trying to make the time to take Lily out and do fun things while the weather is warm. We took a trip to the apple orchard and pumpkin farm. Lily managed to  snag many snacks a long our trip.

Be sure to check out lots of new pics in the October 2008 folder… including one I like to call “Lily’s face meets the wall after not listening to Mommy!”

The Terrible/Terrific Twos

Every day when I wake up, I hold my breath for just a second and wonder who is going to be greeting me on the other side of Lily’s door. Will it be sweet and smart Lily who loves to sing and dance and give big squeezes to Mommy and Daddy or will it be her evil dopelganger, who is ready to throw her body to the floor in a fit of rage over just about anything. The same child who will apologize to every last Cheerio that she drops on the floor, will wait in timeout for what seems like hours before she will say I’m sorry to her Daddy after smacking him in the face. Being two is tough work… being the Mom of a two year old seems to be even tougher!

Fortunately, Lily is too cute for us to stay mad for long… so these days we are trying to laugh (and cry-just a bit!) through the “terribles” and enjoy every other minute… because they sure do fly past fast.

As far as photos… now that Lily is in her third year and we are expecting Baby Numero Dos soon, you will now find new photos arranged by year. Be sure to keep checking back for some new photos in Lily’s October 2008 folder found in the Our Family: 2008 Collection.
