And I question why nothing gets cleaned during the day…

Sometimes nap time just isn’t productive…

Snow Day!

Wooohooo… finally some snow (and by some, I mean just barely enough to be passable as a snow day) for Lily to play in. Lily, Emilie and I braved the outdoors to make snowballs and to clean the cars in the neighborhood. Any neighbors reading this… your welcome for your freshly cleaned bumpers!

But as fun as the snow is, the best part of this morning? Post-snow hot chocolate! Yummmmm!

Bragging Session

So I am feeling a bit proud of myself today. I have been spending nap time (Yeah, I am super lucky… both girls nap at the same time!) looking through pictures and being amazed how time is flying by.

Which leads me to my totally random patting myself on the back moment. As many of you know, I have spent a good amount of my time over the past two years reading books and websites about photography. I have been fortunate to have been very spoiled over that same time by my sister and husband and have slowly progressed from a basic point-and-shoot to a hybrid point-and-shoot to finally my amazing Nikon D-90. The cameras have made a difference, for sure… but even more so has been my ability to move from auto and actually learn what all those buttons on the camera do.   Okay- anyway… the point of this bragging session is to show you how my pictures have improved (both pics are taken with a DSLR camera, the first definitely taken before I learned to adjust the ISO)…

Emilie 2009

Don’t mind the fact that apparently I produce children that look like one of Snow White’s missing dwarves when observed from this angle…

So long story longer… I am feeling proud of the fact that my kids will actually have decent pics of themselves when they get older. And as Kory likes to say, when their 2nd grade teacher asks them to bring in a photo from when they were babies they will be able to say, “What month would you like a picture from and would you prefer something shot in aperature or shutter priority?”

I am 3 Months Old!

Emilie turned 3 months old yesterday… I can’t believe it.  Time is flying.

These days Em is starting to do a lot more things. She is trying to sit up when she is in her bouncer or swing, she is rolling from front to back and she grabs anything (including hair… ouch!) that she can. She is very smiley (as long as Mom holds her!) and is starting to laugh.

emfacesCheck out some shots from Em’s 3 month “photoshoot” in the January folder. Couldn’t quite figure out how to hold her and take pics… end product? One very serious Emilie.

Happy Inauguration!

A message from two of Generation O’s finest…

finally

rock-on

Check out some new pics in the January folder… some pics of Lily’s “Snow Adventure” and some new shots of Emilie.  And keep a look out for a new video of Emilie… she is officially ROLLING OVER!
