Lily’s First Garden

We have been reading all about taking care of plants and what plants need to survive, so we spent some time this  afternoon planting seeds and flowers. Lily was so intense about the whole thing… she took her responsibilities very seriously. At bedtime all she could talk about was how she had to wake up and water the plants!

Happy Birthday (Well… sort of…) Emilie!

Happy 1/2 Birthday, Emilie! Today we celebrated  (a day late!)  with a party (pics in the April folder) and cake.  I am still in shock that I have a 6 month old. She seems so much younger and smaller than Lily did at this age.  And at the same time seems to be doing things quicker and faster as time is flying away!

At the ripe old age of 6 months Emilie is doing quite a lot. She spends most of her days pining over her mother (separation anxiety is soooo fun!) and loves to be held and cuddled. She is rolling back and forth and starting to do the pre-crawl wiggle. She talks back to you by trying to mimic sounds and has begun to use different sounds beyond crying to let us know how she is feeling. Lily is by far her favorite person and she stares at her all day long. Lily is just starting to see her as interesting since she now sits and wiggles and reacts which has led to fun playtime (and a few bumps and bruises!).

The most important thing to know about Emilie is that she is hungry. I don’t mean hungry right now… I mean ALWAYS hungry. The kid wants food and she wants it now. She doesn’t care what kind of food, she doesn’t care that she doesn’t have teeth, she doesn’t even care if it is intended for non-humans. Emilie wants to eat and is pretty impatient about this whole needing to grow up and get teeth to chew thing. I have a feeling that if she could tell you what is the best thing about turning 6 months old it would be…

Finally getting to eat some real food!

So… Happy 1/2 Birthday Kiddo! Enjoy the mush! We love you!

You can call me bargain shopper Wilpon!

So in a move very unlike me… I started thinking about the fact that we were outgrowing the CRV rapidly and 24 hours later I now have a new car! All it took was seeing it was car of the year last year and had a 5 star safety rating and I was sold! So long story longer… we are now owners of a new Mazda cx-9. It has a third row seating that I can actually sit in (it was surprising how small some of them are) and with the third row in use we can still fit the double stroller in the cargo section! Better news still… it is a brand new 2008 model so I was able to get it full loaded (go go DVD player!) for less than what I was paying for the CRV. My payment is 20% less thanks to 1.9% financing and I got lots more! Wooohoooo!

Favorites so far: I actually only have to have the key in my purse and the car will open and turn on! It has remote start so no more hot/cold car in the mornings! Tri-climate control and bluetooth through the GPS. Seth likes that the lights can move (I don’t get it!) and that it is AWD. We even can set driver profiles for the seats and whatnot. It is super fun.
Now if only I could trade in Seth for the same kind of deal… ;-)

Ni Hao Lily!

So, Lily has been watching a show called Ni Hao Kailan (think Dora in Chinese) and she thinks it is the greatest. The show always has one of the characters acting in a “bad” way and then the characters figure out a way to be good. Long story longer, the most recent episode had one of the characters being really full of himself and his friends showed him how to not brag.

I think Lily missed the point since now she is running around singing, “I am the best, I am better than everyone else!” ha!

So much to say, but so very very tired. Check out lots of new pics in the April folder!
