Happy Halloween

Pumpkin Picking, Parades, Parties, Face Painting and Trick or Treating… what a weekend! Hope you had a great one too!

We spent the weekend perfecting being wild things… eating candy and staying up way too late. Lily was so excited and proud of herself in her costume… she had been asking to be Max ever since we decided to do Em’s party as a wild thing one (and I figured for sure I would just be able to throw one of her dress-up dresses on and be done with it!) but she ended up looking super cute in her costume I found on etsy.com.

Emilie wasn’t as in to the dressing up and would have preferred to just eat an entire bag of fruit roll-ups from Trader Joe’s. She did have a great time hanging with the pumpkins at the farm earlier today… and of course managed to look super cute, too!

Lots of pics…

Alison, from www.frecklephotography.com, was at our party to help get some shots of our family and pics of Emilie’s birthday. I know Alison from last year when I took a photo class from her and was excited to have her come and take pics for us. It was a day full of countless strikes against us(bad weather, late naps, cranky moods and lots and lots of wind!) but Alison still got some cute (and pretty funny) shots. I put up a chunk of them tonight and will be going through the rest later (when it is not 3am!)

You have NO idea how hard it was to get a shot with all 4 of us looking at the camera and no one flashing their underwear (ummm… Lily!)

Who is God?

Lily just informed me that God is a dog with three legs…

Crazy Talker…

Emilie exploded today… not literally, that would be messy… but it is like her brain clicked. She learned milk in sign language, learned to point to things if you ask her where they are (including Mommy, Lily, Mynn, Puppy, and Kitty Cat… we will have to check and see if she will do it for Daddy tomorrow). And she says Kitty Cat (which sounds more like Kih-Kah when she sees a cat) and perhaps Puppy (Puuuh-uuh) but I need to more rigorously test this as a part of my toddler training program before I am sure ;-)

Seriously… in less than 24 hours. So freaking cool to watch their brains work.

Happy Birthday, Emilie!

Emilie turned one today… I can’t believe it. I am in a sort of denial about it because she seems like such a baby still. We celebrated with a lot of friends and family… and she definitely enjoyed herself (especially the cake…). During her party she learned to stand on her own from a sitting position… so I am thinking that walking is not far behind.

There will be lots more pics in the next couple days, but for now I put up some shots of how Emilie celebrated her second birthday (since she got cake at her party and today, since it was her actual birthday). Lucky duck.

And following tradition, Emilie got her own book as a present. Check it out at http://mypublisher.com/?e=OHm3Q8zJl3Qo9FHqKpsItorxD-h99BkD&s=fb
