She probably will hate me for this one day…

Where in the world are Lily & Emilie?

No new pics on Flickr? No updates? What is going on? A lot, actually.

After finally digging out of the snow, we have spent the past two weeks on playdates, Mommydates (Melting Pot, Japanese Steak House and PF Changs all in one week make for one fat Mommy!), choosing preschools (we found an awesome one!), applying bandaids, creating websites (for my new project) and setting up more volunteer projects… and did I mention I have full time job? It has been crazy.

Lily has been busy squeezing in extra “sleepovers” with Aunt Mynn and Emilie spends her days proving she will have no problem holding her own in a fight. (The kid can scream MIIIIIIIIINE! like a champion as she chases you down if you take a toy she wants!)

The lack of pics is because I am camera-less at the moment. Still waiting to make a decision about which camera to get. The good news is I was able to find some choices that have everything I want, including video, so now I just need to make a final decision.

So, long story longer, we are busy and happy. More to come…

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!

The girls have been busy making valentines for all of their friends.

The story of my life…

So this has been an incredibly stressful month… work, life and the somewhat demise of some beloved electronics. 600 feet of snow later… I think there may be some silver linings around the corner. :-)

As I have vented, frequently, this week marked the end for my laptop and camera. My laptop (only 40 days new!) met a tragic end when it hit the floor. And my camera somehow cracked in what I like to call the horrendously horrible hotshoe homicide (that’s an example of alliteration for any of you preparing for the MSA… ha!). Of course this happens right before the coolest snowstorm so all my pictures were taken with my old point and shoot (which was a blessing in disguise since the camera fell in the snow MANY MANY times).

So… now I am waiting (patiently???) for my new laptop parts to come and for next week’s photography PMA conference so that I can decide what camera to get as a replacement. I really want a sturdier body but I also want video… so I am hoping Nikon announces something with a decent compromise. Thank goodness for tax refunds and electronics insurance!

Between the Scott Kelby training this month and the Me Ra Koh conference in May and several shoots for Children’s in the works… I am trying to be patient. Trying being the key word ;-)

Loving Playdates…

In all of this snow, we have had to be creative to keep the kids busy… so we have taken our weekly Friday night neighborhood playdates and stretched them out to every other night. Lily loves playdates with her friends and was so excited that she asked me when her friends were coming over… I showed her how she needed to wait until the clock said 6 o’clock and I drew a picture of the clock hands saying 6pm. She then looked at me, looked at the clock and proceeded to turn the clock (using the back spinning wheel… how did she know how to do that?) until our clock said 6. She showed me and said, “See! They are coming now!”.
