Happy Holidays! I have not updated in forever. We have had a busy December between Mom going back to work (YUCK!) and getting ready for the holidays. We made tons of Christmas cookies and it turned out Seth was the best decorator of all of us. Now I just need to stop eating it all!
Lily has been growing a lot these past few weeks. Her eyes are still blue so we are thinking she may end up with big blue eyes!
She has learned to “play” with her toys. She can grab and reach for things and likes to beat up her monkey friend on her playmat (video soon to come!). Aunt Lynn got an ElmoTMX for an early Christmas present and we discovered that Lily loves to stare at Elmo, so Aunt Lynn bought her an Elmo and Cookie Monster doll. (Aunt Lynn is a little TOO good at the voices!)
Aunt Tiner spent the weekend with us and spoiled Lily with way too many presents. Lily’s favorite is the shake and giggle cow, she really likes to grab his ears. Aunt Tiner wasn’t quite as scared to hold Lily this time!
Other than that we have just been hanging out and enjoying time with Lily. Her medicine seems to be working and she is starting to feel a lot better so there is not quite as much crying.
The tree is up, the menorah is out and we are ready to celebrate. This is a busy month for us with the holidays and me going back to work. Lily and I went to get her picture taken, but she decided not to wake up. You can see some examples of the “photoshoot” in the gallery (check out the great shoes from Grandma Robin)… which is now embedded in the site, check out the photo link to see it!
We have been able to take some Christmas and Winter themed pictures (added to the folder). But we were surprise to find it so difficult to find a cute Hanukah outfit that I finally just made one.Â
Many of you know that Christmas is my favorite holiday because of the family traditions I have from childhood. We have been working on creating our own traditions that allow Lily to experience both holidays. I hope she grows up to enjoy the season as much as I do!
Lily, Mom, Dad & Aunt Lynn all traveled for a whirlwind trip to Grandpa’s to celebrate his 75th birthday! We did a lot of driving! Lily got to meet some of Mom’s cousins and they had a lot of fun hanging out and talking about the “old days”. We found out that Lily is almost identical to Lora’s cousin Melissa as a baby. We will try to get some photos to compare soon!
After eating turkey, everyone was very sleepy.
